Watertown Co-op Elevator Association markets grain, agronomy, and feed products and services from this location. Equipped to serve the growing grain processing industry of this region, grain is also marketed through a thriving feed business and can be shipped by two 54-car loadout systems.
Grover This picturesque elevator will be 100 years old in March of 2005. With a 110,000-bushel capacity, the facility is now used only seasonally at harvest time. This past harvest the tin-sided wood crib site handled about 200,000 bushels of wheat, 150,000 bushels of soybeans, and about 10,000 bushels of oats. On-site drying is still available.
This facility handles about 600,000-700,000 bushels of grain annually, mostly corn, wheat, and soybeans. Bulk fertilizer is available along with crop protection services and products. The facility is equipped with a grain dryer for handling a high moisture harvest. The agronomists serving Watertown Co-op remind Henry-area growers that seed and service is only a phone call away.
In 2004, this facility handled 200,000 bushels of wheat, 250,000 bushels of corn, and 250,000 bushels of soybeans. An added value to growers of specialty crops like millets and sunflowers is a bird food plant that specializes in producing and marketing an enriched parakeet product. Webster has a full-service agronomy division that handles crop protection, crop nutrients, and seed products. Five full time employees provide service to a growing base of Webster-area growers.
